Construct output rose by 0.4% in February 2025, marking a reversal of the sector’s two-month decline, according to new figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS)

The increase follows a 0.3% fall in January and a 0.2% drop in December, highlighting a welcome return to growth. Of the nine construction sub-sectors, five recorded positive growth in February.

Key drivers behind the improvement included increased activity in public housing repairs, maintenance, and new build projects. Analysts also noted that mixed weather conditions had varying effects across regions, contributing to the overall uptick in output.
