Harlow Council has approved a comprehensive five-year strategy aimed at addressing homelessness. The initiative hopes to eliminate rough sleeping in the area, aligning with the government’s broader goals outlined in its 2022 strategy

The new strategy encompasses:

  • Enhancing support services to prevent homelessness and assist those currently experiencing it
  • Increasing the availability of affordable housing options
  • Collaborating with private landlords to secure suitable accommodation for vulnerable populations
  • Implementing measures to ensure that housing contributes positively to residents’ health and well-being

These efforts form part of Harlow Council’s broader mission to improve housing standards and meet the needs of its residents, as detailed in their Housing, Homelessness, and Rough Sleep Strategy.

Nickolds Property Management has been committed to enacting these measures since its inception. Through working with private landlords to provide necessary accommodation for those in need, Nickolds is actively contributing to Harlow Council’s initiatives and reducing homelessness across Essex. By implementing this five-year plan, Harlow Council seeks to create a future where every family has access to safe, secure, and affordable housing, helping to create a thriving and inclusive community – a core foundation of Nickolds Property Management's mission.

Nickolds Property Management is committed to reducing homelessness across Hertfordshire, Essex, and Bedfordshire. The social housing provider works closely with local councils, including Harlow Council, to help provide housing solutions to vulnerable households, including emergency housing and HMOs.
